Norris Leads Piastri in Sao Paulo Practice Session
The British driver has outscored his teammate at each of the previous five grands prix.
The McLaren driver edged out team-mate and championship contender the Australian for the top spot in the closing stages of practice at the Brazilian Grand Prix.
Norris, who seized the points lead from Piastri by a single point after his victory in the Mexican Grand Prix a fortnight back, outpaced the Melbourne-born driver by 0.023 seconds.
Earlier in the session, Piastri had been the fastest McLaren driver throughout the hour before the sprint shootout due at the evening session.
Max Verstappen, the only other driver in the championship fight, trailing 36 points behind Norris, finished in 17th place as his team ran a alternative strategy.
His teammate the Japanese driver was the sole competitor to go off, though minor, when he lost control at the fourth corner during the early running.
Tsunoda lost control over the exit kerbs before spinning across the gravel trap, and was fortunate to escape with just a minor contact of the wall.
Ferrari's Lewis Hamilton also spun, at the final moments of the session, turning around through the high-speed Mergulho corner approaching the final corner on to the start-finish straight.
The veteran ended the session in 19th place, just behind teammate the Monegasque driver.
The McLaren drivers were significantly quicker of the other competitors, with the German's Sauber P3, over half a second slower than Piastri's best.
The Aston Martin of Fernando Alonso was in fourth, with Sauber's Bortoleto fifth from the Mercedes of George Russell and Alpine's Pierre Gasly and Williams' Carlos Sainz.
